Cultural performances with drums and gongs, a fun-filled river cleanup competition, delicious food stalls, and engaging educational sessions about the Whau River allowed everyone to experience the charm of diverse cultures amidst laughter and joy, while also contributing to the protection of the Whau River. Chinese Shadow Puppet Event Comes to Genius Kids!
On Saturday, October 18th, our studio warmly welcomed Amanda Huang and her colleagues from Genius Kids at 93 Golf Road. They explored our enchanting shadow puppetry and paper-cutting exhibition, and even tried their hand at manipulating the puppets—capturing fun photos of their experience!
We’re thrilled to be invited to perform shadow puppetry for the children at their kindergarten in early November. This special event will introduce the magic of shadow puppetry to both kids and parents, bringing traditional art to life in a playful and memorable way.

🎉 Auckland Drum Team × Chinese Shadow Puppetry: A Dream Collaboration! Open Day 11 March 2026
Friends experienced an immersive shadow puppet manipulation session in the studio, where this ancient art was revitalized amidst laughter and joy. Everyone held up the puppets, smiling broadly. In the harmonious interplay of gongs and drums with singing, the two traditional arts collided and sparked a unique synergy under the New Zealand sun. ✨
